Big Fish In New Skiff
I took the new Headhunter II out on the Henry’s Fork this weekend to battle the crowds and hopefully catch some big fish.
I still can’t get over how well this new boat holds and ferries. We watched a guide walking a boat down a bank that we had rowed back up earlier in the morning. We could stop the boat pretty much anywhere and row back up almost everywhere (which was nice because I fished a 200 gr. sinking line for awhile and it kept getting snagged on rocks. Thanks to Don and the skiff, I only lost 1 streamer).
We were the 3rd or 4th boat down from Ora (to Vernon) on opening day. We threw nymphs and streamers in the morning and then went back up and threw dries in the afternoon.
As you can see… we had a nice day.
I need to work on my ‘picture face’.
